Fairway collecting for Age Concern Birmingham

Donations Gratefully Received – Its the festive season and we have teamed up with Age Concern Birmingham to assist them in collecting food for their Christmas hampers to socially isolated people in and around Birmingham.

Fairway and Age Concern would be very grateful to receive donations from anybody that wants to help us. Celebrating World Mental Health Day

This workshop will provide an overview of the signs and symptoms associated with common mental health conditions such as depression and the experiences of people with poor wellbeing and the effects of mental health. The workshop will also look at some of the common signs and symptoms associated with changes in mental health and someone entering into crisis.

Meet Martin, National Training Manager for Fairway Training

Martin Andrews has joined the Fairway team as National Training Manager. Martin has been working within the health andsocial care sector for over 18 years, during this time he has held a number of different roles from managing services under residential, supported housing, domiciliary care and supported living. Over the past 15 years as part of the roles he has held have also been involved in learning & development for health and social care staff for the organisations he worked for.

Acorns Children’s Hospice dog walk

Fairway recently took part in the Acorns Hospice Charity Dog Walk! Fiona, Libby, Laura, Jackie and Ann took their dogs Mr Rigsby, Ronnie, Reggie, Jack, Brakan and Tyke for a 3km walk around Sutton Park to raise money for the hospice. So far Fairway have managed to raise an excellent £130 for Acorns and our Just Giving page will still be open for donations until July! www.justgiving.com/fairwayteam

Established in 1988, Acorns Children’s Hospice Trust is a registered charity offering a network of care for life limited and life threatened children and young people, and their families, across the heart of England. These children and young people are not expected to reach adulthood and require specialist care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In the last year Acorns has supported over 700 children and more than 1,050 families, including those who are bereaved. Acorns is the only organisation that provides this level of care to these vulnerable youngsters whilst offering a range of support services to the whole family to help them cope at every stage of their child’s life and beyond into bereavement.
